Daniel Fox has taken a dominant win at the Busselton Golf Club for the inaugural British Sausage, Ham & Bacon Co Pro Am.
On a picture perfect Sunday morning a field of 30 professionals assembled to tee it up in the WA swing of the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series where Fox’s round of 7-under 65 was the best of the day by four shots.
Starting on the 1st, Fox eagled his first hole of the day and followed up with another eagle on the par-5 8th hole. This along with one birdie and one bogey would kick him into cruise mode the back-9 at 4-under par and leading the day.
On the following six holes Fox made all pars before finishing off the round in style with 3 consecutive birdies through 16-18 to post a new course record.
“I used to love coming down here for the West Coast Open amateur event back in the day, the course was amazing then and is even better now,” said Fox.
“The game felt really sharp today, it’s always great to have a win especially with how strong these fields are, you know you’ll have to play really well to get one.”
Behind Fox 11 players broke the par 72 layout, with Michael Choi, Brody Martin and Andrew Martin tying for second place at 3-under 69.
Tied for fifth place, Braden Becker, Brady Watt, Jason Chellew and Adam Burdett completed their rounds on 2-under the card.
Players now head to the Urban Quarter Dunsborough Lakes Pro-Am on 30 May, 2019.
