American Jordan Spieth has won the 2014 Emirates Australian Open played at The Australian Golf Club.

Spieth fired an impressive course record 8-under 63 in the final round to ensure his name is etched on the Stonehaven Cup with a tournament total of 13-under 271.

"What an incredible honour to put my name on here," said Spieth who won the title by six shots.

"With these conditions the golf course is very difficult. It’s definitely the best round I have ever played and the best win I have ever had."

"Being able to spread out from the field was a pretty awesome experience."

Starting the day tied for the lead with Greg Chalmers and Brett Rumford, Spieth put on a master class to win his second Professional title.

"I didn’t think the round was out there but the putts just kept going in, boy we had a good time out there today," said Spieth who with this win moves to 11^th on the Official World Golf Rankings.

Spieth was excited to have won oninternational soil and is already looking forward to returning toSydney next year to defend his title.

"It’s been an incredible week fromthe moment we got here," added Spieth.

"I love Australia, the fans were fantastic and the golf course was in top shape."

"I am for sure going to be coming back to Australia."

Rod Pampling finished outright second on 7-under 277, Brett Rumford outright third on 6-under 278 and Greg Chalmers outright fourth on 5-under 279.

Thanks to their finish at the Emirates Australian Open the trio have secured a place at The Open Championship which will be played at St Andrews in 2015.

"It’s fantastic to qualify. I think it’s an awesome venue and obviously it’s the Home of Golf. I love links and I am definitely looking forward to it," said Pampling.

"It’s been a tremendous week and this is real positive to take out of the week. It’s of huge significance that it’s at St Andrews," said Rumford.

"I’m really excited for me and my family. I will take everybody over to go to St Andrews. I’m really proud of myself and very pleased to earn this spot in The Open," said Chalmers.

Adam Scott rounded out the top-5 with a tournament total of 4-under 280 while defending champion and World Number 1 Rory McIlroy finished at 2-over the card, tied 15^th.

The PGA Tour of Australasia now heads to Riverside Oaks Golf Resort for the NSW PGA Championship to be played from 4-7 December.

The 2015 Order of Merit will then be decided at the season ending Australian PGA Championship to be played at RACV Royal Pines Resort from 11-14 December.
