Local hero Nathan Miller has taken top honours alongside Benjamin Clementson at the 2019 Central Connect Kooindah Waters Pro-Am.
Hosted by PGA of Australia Deputy Chairman David Stretton, a star-studded Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series field teed it up at Kooindah Waters Golf Club with the likes of Peter O’Malley, James Nitties and Matthew Millar competing for a shot at this year’s title.
Nathan Miller took advantage of the calmer conditions in the morning, making a birdie on his first hole for the day, the par-4 18th and following it up with an eagle on the par-5 1st.
“It was a pretty solid start and having some local knowledge was definitely an advantage,” Miller said.
For the afternoon shotgun, Ben Clementson was on-song with a bogey-free 4-under 68 tying Miller for the lead.
“It felt like an up and down day, despite going round without any bogeys. I am just glad I holed some clutch putts to keep me in it,” Clemetson said.
Sitting in outright third place was ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia winner Matthew Millar with a round of 3-under 69.
Other notable scores include Clayton Bridges, Ruben Sondjaja and Jay McKenzie; all three managing rounds of 2-under par to sit tied for fourth place.
The Central Coast swing of the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series kicks off again on Friday 22 November 2019 at Everglades Country Club.
