Richard Green will be the lone Australian to fly the flag at this week’s Portugal Masters, the site of his last European Tour win in 2010.
The left-hander stormed home with a Sunday 65 four years ago to overtake a host of top players and will be ken to emulate that form this week.
It has been a resurgent year for Green who finished outside the top 110 on last year’s Race to Dubai and was forced to play this year on a one off lifetime earnings exemption.
However, the 44-year-old has turned things around in 2014, including a play-off loss at the Spanish Open and several top 15 finishes, to sit 74th on the Race to Dubai and be assured of playing privileges next year.
His history at Portugal is a mixed bag with his best result aside from the victory coming last year when he finished T17.
