Tim Elliott and Glenn Joyner have won the two-round Bermagui Legends Pro-Am on the Ladbrokes Legends Tour with tournament totals of 5-under 139.
Players were greeted by ideal conditions for the tournament’s opening round where Richard Cooney returned the best card of the morning with a 2-under 70.
This score was quickly surpassed by the afternoon field, however, when Terry Price, Glenn Joyner, Craig Warren Peter Jones and tour rookie Brad Cumming carded rounds of 3-under 69.
An ominous outlook was forecast for round two with rain and storms expected to hit the Bermagui Country Club.
The morning field survived any downpour but four holes into the afternoon field heavy rain hit and play was delayed.
Fortunately play resumed an hour later with the sun coming out to see the field though to the end of the tournament.
Tim Elliott finally returned to the winner’s circle with the low round of the tournament on day two, a bogey-free 4-under 68 to pair with his first round of 71.
Glenn Joyner backed up his opening round of 69 with a second scorecard of 2-under 70.
Luck was in Joyner’s favour on the final 18 holes where he hit a 170 meter cut around the trees to hole a 60-foot putt after returning from the rain delay, a fantastic shot that sparked his round.
Craig Warren’s final score of 3-under 141 resulted in a third place finish ahead of Michael Harwood and Terry Price in fourth place.
