Andrew Campbell has fired a bogey free round of 9-under 63 to claim victory by one shot over Douglas Klein in the 20th staging of the Finco Solutions Pioneer Valley Pro-Am.
This is the first win in two years on Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series for the 29-year-old who is thrilled to be back in the winner’s circle.
Based out of the Warringah Golf Club, Campbell made a string of seven straight 3’s on his card making the turn at 5-under 31, followed by a back-9 of 4-under 32 for his round of 63.
“My ball striking today was as good as it’s been for some time,” said Campbell. “I got on a roll mid-way through my round where I just hit it close on a number of holes and made the birdie putts.
“The greens were rolling really well and I made a lot of putts out there, which gave me the confidence to hold it together for the 18 holes.
“It’s a pleasure to come out here and play these courses, the members are fantastic and it’s great that we can give them a good couple of days of golf.”
The next best placed professional was Doug Klien who fired a round of 8-under 64 to finish outright second.
“It’s the first time I have seen the course and it was in fantastic condition, I really enjoyed the layout,” said Klein.
Finishing in outright third position was Paul Hayden with a round of 6-under 66 ahead of a trio of players in fourth place including Tim Hart, Ben Clementson and Dane McArdle all finished on a total of 5-under 67.
The next stop on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series is the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series which begins at the Moranbah Golf Clun on Wednesday 29 May, 2019.
