Some of the games rising stars competed alongside locals from the region and club members from the Mt Gambier Golf Club.
Host PGA Professional Craig Davis created a wonderful concept which raised funds for several charitable causes and showcased one of the best regional courses in the country.
Victorian Kristopher Mueck took advantage of the benign afternoon conditions and claimed the victory with a round of four-under 68.
It is the second win on the PGA Pro-Am Series for Mueck who won the very first event of the 2017 season in Goonawarra in January.
Mueck said it was a “wonderful day and the course was in amazing condition” which helped him on his way to a bogey free outing.
One shot back, tied for second place with rounds of 3-under 69 were New South Welshman Mitchell Brown and the leading South Australian Brad Moules.
The field included local South Australian rising stars Brad Moules, Max McCardle and Anthony Murdaca who competed in the 201 US Masters Tournament.
Experienced tour veteran Jason Norris was a local South Australian who impressed spectators on the traditional Attamurra layout.
Also in the field was Sarah King who was one of two females competing in the event and for King it was a homecoming of sorts, her return to the Mt Gambier Golf Club attracting dozens of locals who came to watch King and other PGA Professionals who have visited from around Australia and New Zealand.
This was the first event of the WA/SA swing presented by Subaru of the PGA Pro-Am Series.
Players now head north along the Riddoch Highway for the Murray Bridge Hotel PGA Classic which begins Wednesday morning and will conclude Friday afternoon.
