After taking the 54-hole lead at the co-sanctioned Thailand Open Josh Younger couldn’t keep pace with red hot Korean K.T Kim in the final round to eventually finished third.

Younger, whose Saturday 64 was enough to hand him a one shot lead in the tournament co-sanctioned by the Japan Golf Tour and One Asia, got off to a hot start of his own Sunday with a birdie-par opening before a severe electrical storm halted play.

The delay did little to help the Victorian whose game never seemed to get back on track over the final 18 while the Korean went from strength to strength.

Younger could find just one more birdie for the round against three bogies to post a disappointing 73 but his outright third place finish was easily his best of his year and the best of the Australians.

Younger was the only Australian to finish inside the top 25, Matt Griffin next best at T30 with Michael Sim a further shot back and T34.

In all 13 Australasians made the cut with some unexpected high profile players missing the weekend.

Gareth Paddison and Ryan Fox are both in the top 10 on the One Asia Order of Merit but both missed the cut this week as did Japan Tour regular David Smail.

Making the weekend were: David Mackenzie (T39), Anthony Summers (T44), Dimi Papadatos and Nathan Holman (T48), Aaron Townsend and Michael Wright (T55), Stephen Dartnall (T59) and Steven Jeffress and Scott Strange (T64).
