Former South Pacific Open champion Adam Stephens has taken the round three lead of the Ian Weigh Toyota Rockhampton Pro-Am after firing 6-under 66.
Stephens finds himself on top of the leaderboard and one
shot ahead of Lindsey Wilson, who overcame a disappointing opening nine to fire
home six birdies on his inward nine to end the day on 15-under.
"The Rockhampton
course is one that you need to remain patient on. Knowing there are a number of
birdie opportunities you run the risk of getting a little ahead of yourself,"
said Stephens.
"It’s nice be finding some form this week, though it wasn’t
really until I made an eagle at the 7th, followed by a birdie at the 8th, that
I was able to get my round going in the right direction."
"I am really looking forward to tomorrow, and I know the
hard work that I have been putting in will pay off very soon."
The final round of the Ian Weigh Toyota Rockhampton Pro-Am
tees off at 6:50am, with the lead group including Stephens and Wilson teeing
off at 12:30pm.
