Jason Scrivener made the most of his opportunity to play the Austrian Open this week, making his fourth cut of the year and banking a much needed cheque.
While not playing his best golf the West Australian European Tour rookie was consistent over the four days to post an even par result, good enough for T52 and a cheque for €5,271.
Scrivener earned his Tour card at last year’s Q-School but has struggled to get starts much of the year making it difficult to build any momentum with his game.
Teeing up for his second consecutive event this week obviously helped, the 26-year-old posting rounds of 70-73-74-71.
Scrivener is languishing well down the Race to Dubai rankings and needs to build on this week’s effort if he is to keep his card for the 2016 season.
Only the top 110 players automatically keep their status each year and Scrivener is currently 188th.
Terry Pilkadaris was the only other Australian in this week’s field but failed to make the weekend after rounds of 72-76.
