Both Peter Senior and Steve Elkington were well down the leaderboard when the Champions Tour’s Greater Gwinnett tournament was shortened to 36 holes because of rain over the weekend.
Tour Officials called off Sunday’s final round after heavy
rain inundated the course on Saturday night.
Senior had opened the tournament with a 3-over 75 and
followed up with an even par 72 to be T59 while Elkington finished further back
but in vastly different circumstances.
The 1995 US PGA champion opened with an encouraging
2-under-par 70 but in the rain interrupted second round couldn’t get any
momentum and slumped to a 9-over par 81 to finish 72nd in the 81 man
field.
