The PGA Tour of Australasia has travelled across the Tasman and arrived in Auckland for the Holden NZ PGA Championship.

"MichaelBeing played at Remuera Golf Club, one of Auckland’s
premiere courses, the tournament makes a return to the PGA Tour of Australasia
schedule after a year’s hiatus.

With the backing of the PGA of New Zealand and Holden the
Holden NZ PGA Championship is set to be an exciting week of golf with players
chasing a prize purse of NZ$125,000.

A strong field has assembled to contest the title headlined
by Kiwi Michael Hendry who was victorious in the last two times the tournament
was held. However it’s important to note that Hendry won at The Hills in
Queenstown.

A hometown favourite this week is sure to be Ryan Fox who is
also the highest ranked player in the field according to the Official World
Golf Rankings.

Fox comes into the tournament in excellent form having won
the Tour’s last tournament, the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship, and
finishing T5 at the Mercedes-Benz Truck & Bus Victorian PGA Championship.

Other New Zealander’s to watch include Nick Gillespie,
Gareth Paddison, Mark Brown, David Smail, Michael Long and Ben Campbell.

However a powerful contingent of Aussies has made the
journey to the land of the long white cloud and will be looking to spoil the
party.

Leading the charge is Australian Masters champion Nick
Cullen, he is joined by Peter Lonard, Peter Fowler, Matthew Griffin and two men
who recorded their first Professional victories on New Zealand soil Dimitrios
Papadatos (2014 NZ Open champion) and Jake Higginbottom (2012 NZ Open
champion).

With the Black Caps defeating the Aussies in the Cricket
World Cup and women’s World Number 1 Lydia Ko winning the NZ Women’s Open in
Christchurch yesterday the New Zealand Pros are sure to be up and about and
will be hard to beat on home soil this week.
