Kris Mueck and Luke Hickman both shot rounds of 4-under 65 to be declared joint winners of the 2018 Flinders Ladbrokes Pro-Am.
Teeing off in the afternoon, the pair were able to overcome early leaders John Horvath and Dylan Higgins who both had rounds of 3-under 66.
“My round today was a lot different to the norm for me here; I actually have never earned a cheque here before,” said Mueck.
“I hit irons where I’d normally hit driver into the woods and I made a few birdies when I was playing conservatively.”
This win is Hickman’s third in the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series, a welcome change after he came close to putting the clubs away for good.
“It’s been a little bit of shock, I was ready to give the game away last year. Then I went and saw Euan Walters for a lesson and he got me back on track,” said Hickman.
“I’m really enjoying my golf now plus I’m working full time so I’ve got a good balance and that’s probably been the key.”
Higgins and Horvath finished tied for third at 3-under with Matthew Buff, Andrew Kelly, Euan Walters, Daniel Fox, Rick Kulacz, Anthony Marchesani and Matthew Perry rounding out the top-10 at 2-under.
