Three budding young golfers from the Gold Coast will soon have the opportunity to experience tournament life at one of the world’s most famous Majors thanks to the City of Gold Coast, Emirates and the PGA of Australia.
Three budding young golfers from the Gold Coast will soon have the opportunity to experience tournament life at one of the world’s most famous Majors thanks to the City of Gold Coast, Emirates and the PGA of Australia.
Winners of the Mayor’s Junior Golf Development Scholarship are set to be announced on Wednesday, after applicants were interviewed by a panel that included PGA Professional Mark Gibson, Kim Tomlinson from Emirates, retired teacher Betty Veivers and Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.
Each scholarship recipient will receive international flights and accommodation, together with tickets to the 2015 Open Championship.
They will also have the opportunity to play a round of golf at St Andrews, the holy grail of golf, and undergo private coaching and mentoring for six weeks with PGA Professional Mark Gibson, the Director of Instruction at RACV Royal Pines Resort and home to the Australian PGA Championship.
The Mayor’s Junior Golf Development Scholarship will be officially announced at RACV Royal Pines Resort on Wednesday May 6 at 9:30am.
