Top 10 finishes for both Bryden MacPherson and Brett Drewitt at this week’s PGA TOUR China event have the pair well placed to earn 2015 Web.com Tour cards.
Drewitt is fifth on the earnings list and MacPherson seventh with the top five to graduate to the US Web.com Tour next year and just two events remaining on the schedule.
David McKenzie, with two wins for the season, is fourth on the list and almost assured of promotion.
Both Drewitt and MacPherson finished T8 at this week’s Nine Dragons event to keep their hopes alive with the final two events on the fledgeling Tour’s schedule to be played over the next fortnight.
Ray Beaufils, currently 11th on the Order of Merit, shared top Australian honours with Alex Hawley at T6 this week and is still a chance to play his way into the top five earners with a pair of high finishes or a win in the next fortnight.
There is still uncertainty surrounding the status of Order of Merit leader Xin Jun Zhang who is serving a six month suspension for signing two incorrect scorecards.
No announcement has been made on whether he will maintain his position at the top of the money list and earn a card or whether the sixth place finisher might instead head to the Web.com Tour next year.
