Queensland’s Brad Kennedy looks primed for a tilt at a third Japan tour title ahead of this week’s Japan PGA Championship on the island of Okinawa.

After an uncharacteristically slow start to the Japan Tour season the 42-year-old found form at his last start a fortnight ago and will be motivated to capture one of the more prestigious titles on the circuit this week.

The Japan PGA Championship carries one of the biggest purses of the year and after a T9 finish at The Crowns two weeks ago, where he improved with each successive round, Kennedy looks in fine form.

There are seven Australasians teeing up this week with 2015 champion Adam Bland joining Kennedy as well as Won Joon Lee, Kurt Barnes, Brendan Jones, Todd Sinnott and New Zealand’s Michael Hendry.

Bland is the only Australian to win the title in its 43-year history though that victory came at a different golf course two years ago.

Todd Sinnott is another who could fire this week, the long hitting 25-year-old showing glimpses of form two weeks ago at The Crowns tournament.

Sinnott posted scores of 72-68-72-69 at Nagoya Golf Club but making 17 birdies for the week suggests not much is needed for those scores to improve markedly.
