Brad Kennedy has closed out his 2017 season on a high note with a top-10 finish at the final event of the Japan Tour year, the Nippon Series JT Cup.

The Queenslander was one of three Australians in the 30-man field and with a 4-under total for the week shared eighth positon on the leaderboard.

Kennedy, one of Australia’s most consistent performers on the Japan Tour in recent years, held a share of the lead after an opening round 66 but struggled to a 2-over 72 Friday.

Weekend rounds of 68-70 saw him post his best result in five appearances at this event and his fifth top 10 of the year.

Brendan Jones and Todd Sinnott were the other Australians to earn starts, Jones finishing 18^th alone at 1-over for the week while Sinnott found the going tough to finish at the tail of the field.

Jones, the champion here in 2007, was consistent without having his best stuff and after a scintillating final round to climb to second last week will be a little disappointed with scores of 71-71-69-70.
