The Victorian swing of the Ladbrokes Legends Tour has concluded at Mandalay Golf Course with Peter Fowler and Ben Jackson tying for the win at the Club Mandalay Legends Pro-Am.
The Peter Thomson designed golf course was in top condition for the field of 63 senior professionals with perfect conditions greeting the morning field before winds picked up throughout the day.
Featuring in the afternoon field, defending champion Peter Fowler resurrected his round after a shaky start to fire 5-under 67.
Going on to equal Fowler’s score and record his first win on tour in 2019 was Englishman Ben Jackson, who now
holds two career wins on the Ladbrokes Legends Tour.
Competition was tight across the field with four players including Glenn Joyner, Martin Pettigrew, Darryl Purchase and Peter Lonard tied for 3rd place on 4-under the card.
Victorian Wesley Greene set the pace in the morning field with a round of 2-under 70. Despite adding four birdies to his tally, near-misses on course saw Greene pushed back to an equal 10th place finish at the tournament’s conclusion behind Brad Burns, Michael Harwood and Martin Peterson in 7th.
The Ladbrokes Legends Tour next moves to Tura Beach Country Club in New South Wales on 21 March for the Bega Cheese Pro-Am.
