Peter Senior and Paul Hayden have fired rounds of 5-under par 66 to be declared joint winners of the 2018 Southport Pro-Am finishing one shot clear of the field.

“The course was in fantastic condition today, I haven’t played here for some time and I was pleasantly surprised, the course was in great shape," said Senior.

“I played well today managing to remain bogey-free for the round.

“Fortunately I placed the ball in the right positions on the greens which certainly made scoring easier."

For Hayden the win marks it his second on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series for the 2018 season.

“I’ve been playing well the last few weeks and today it just clicked," said Hayden.

“I hit a lot of good shots out there which gave me a number of birdie opportunities inside 10 feet. My putter was working really well and I made most of my birdie putts."

A trio of professionals finished in second position including Steven Jeffress, Ryan Gailey and Michael Sim who all fired rounds of 4-under par 67.

This was the 6^th staging of the Southport Pro-Am of which was recognised early in the year for their continued Pro-Am success by being awarded the 2017 Queensland PGA Pro-Am of the year.

The next stop on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series will be the Gunnedah Pro-Am where play commences on Wednesday 5 September.
