Marcus Fraser has played his way into the all important top- 60 on the Race to Dubai rankings with a superb top-5 finish at the British Masters in England.
Fraser, who began the week in 72nd place, played three brilliant rounds at the Woburn Golf Club, a second round 73 the only blemish in an otherwise impressive week.
The top-60 at the end of the Turkish Airlines event are eligible to play for the lucrative Race to Dubai bonus pool and Fraser’s good week has him as the only Australian among that number to date.
There are two regular season events left before the Race to Dubai Finals Series gets underway with the Portugal Masters this week and the Hong Kong Open the following week where Scott Hend will be the defending champion.
Fraser was one of three Australians to make the cut at Woburn, Wade Ormsby next best in a share of 38th while Scott Hend shot a final round 69 to move up six places to T54.
Richard Green missed the cut by a shot after rounds of 71-72 left him at 1-over-par.
Scott Hend (65th), Andrew Dodt (69th) and Richard Green (76th) all still have a good chance to qualify for the final 60 while Wade Ormsby (94th) will need something special in the next three weeks.
