Peter Fowler will like his chances of a third win for the 2015 European Senior Tour season when the Travis Perkins Masters gets underway at England’s Woburn Golf Club this week.
Fowler has three top-5 finishes in four appearances at the tournament and comes into the week off another top-15 finish in Scotland last week.
Fowler was T5 at Woburn in 2011, runner-up in 2012 and T5 again last year behind Colin Montgomerie.
The Scot will be the main threat again this week as he tries to win the title for the third year running.
Fowler has been the form player of the season in Europe and sits third on the Order of Merit behind Mongomerie and Bernhard Langer because of the performances of those two in this year’s Majors.
In nine events to date Fowler has finished outside the top-25 only once and has three other top-10’s to go with his two victories.
Joining Fowler in the field this week are Peter O’Malley, Mike Harwood, Noel Ratcliffe and Tim Elliott.
O’Malley will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing weekend in Scotland last week after making a fast start but fading.
This will be O’Malley’s fifth start since joining the over 50’s and while he has played some good golf he is yet to produce his best over the course of a full tournament.
