Jake Higginbottom has ended his 2017 Asian Tour on a high note posting his second top-10 result of the season and setting up a promising 2018.

""The former New Zealand Open winner was under par in all four rounds of the Indonesian Masters on his way to outright 10th place and a top-50 finish on the Asian Tour Order of Merit.

With scores of 71-68-66-70 he finished 13-under par for the 72 holes, his cheque for US$14,325 also his second biggest of the year and seeing him to 47th on the final Order of Merit.

Higginbottom was one of nine Australians to tee up in the last event played on the world’s major Tours for the year and was among seven to play the weekend.

Close to earning full playing rights next season was Adam Blyth who finished T36 at Royale Jakarta Golf Club to climb to 64th on the Order of Merit.

Blyth has played just six events on the Asian Tour in 2017 after failing to earn a card at the Qualifying School in January though his strong finish will see him exempt to final stage again next month.

Ash Hall was next best of the Australians behind Higginbottom, his 8-under total good for a share of 25th position.

Hall started the week in style with rounds of 66-69 despite several lengthy weather delays but lost momentum at the weekend with rounds of 74-71.

After a disastrous start to his third round Hall fought back bravely though, like all in the field, was forced to return to the course Sunday morning to complete round three due to storms.

Scott Hend finished 4-under for the week and T44 though will be pleased to have finished fourth on the Order of Merit.
The Queenslander won the money list last year and while he knew before the week began he was unable to overtake Malaysia’s Gavin Green to defend the crown his aim was to finish as high as possible.

Terry Pilkadaris was T48 after a final round 74 but safely kept his card for 2018 by finishing 47th on the Order of Merit, Lucas Herbert next best at T56.

Herbert made a fast start to the tournament with an opening 67 but like fellow Victorian Hall struggled with the constant weather stoppages and posted a costly third round 78.

Marcus Both was the last of the Australians to play the weekend after making the cut on the number, a final round 76 a disappointing way to finish his year as he dropped to T66.
