Western Australia born and now Victorian based PGA Professional Tim Elliott has started his WA swing with a sensational win at the 2019 PGA Professionals Championship of WA qualifier.

Following the WA Annual Sate Meeting, 41 players took to the stunning Wembley Golf Course in the hope of winning one of the six elusive spots on offer for the PGA Professionals Championship Final to be played at Hamilton Island from 19-21 November.

In town early to see family and prepare for the upcoming Ladbrokes Legends Tour swing, Elliot shot a round of 4-under 68, including five birdies and a bogie to put him into first place.

Three players tied for second place with Troy Murphy, Vernon Sexton-Finck and Singapore based golfer Scott Barr all firing 3-under 69 to make it through.

The last two places went to WA Chairman Rob Farley and Rob Panincic who both shot great rounds of 2-under 70.

As an added bonus, Elliot and Murphy, who finished second on a count back, both gain exemptions into the WA PGA Championship played from 10 – 13 October at Kalgoorlie Golf Course.

The third leg of PGA Professionals Championship qualifying now heads to Mackay Golf Club in North Queensland on 20 May.
