"CameronWinner of the Nashville Open in late May, Davis has failed to make the cut in his past three Web.com starts but will be buoyed by his major debut at The Open Championship where he finished tied for 39th, including a superb final round of 70 at Carnoustie.

Currently ranked 34th on the Order of Merit, the reigning Australian Open champion is just under $20,000 from the player in 25th spot, Alex Prugh, with the top 25 finishers at the end of the season earning PGA Tour cards for 2019.

When Davis added his maiden win as a professional to his tie for fourth at the Knoxville Open his path to the PGA Tour seemed secured but he now has seven events to improve his standing, starting this week at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Kansas.

Although Rhein Gibson (40th on Order of Merit) has skipped the tournament oOther Australians playing in the KC Golf Classic are Jamie Arnold and Curtis Luck who are 63rd and 78th respectively on the moneylist.

Kiwi Steven Alker is also playing at Nicklaus Golf Club and sits in 98th position.

Canada’s Mackenzie Tour travels to Edmonton this week for the Syncrude Oil Country Championship where the Australian contingent consists of Brett Coletta and Ruben Sondjaja, Coletta currently sitting in 25th position on the Order of Merit.

On the Champions Tour this week Aussie pair David McKenzie and Peter Lonard take on some of golf’s most famous names in the 3M Championship at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota.

McKenzie was the best of the Aussies at last week’s Senior Open Championship at St Andrews where he finished tied for 14th, three shots ahead of Lonard who was tied for 24th.

With a best finish of tied for third at the Rapiscan Systems Classic, McKenzie sits 49th in the Charles Schwab Cup and will be out to continue his impressive record of making the cut in all 20 Champions Tour events in which he has played to date.

In Europe Peter Fowler defends the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship at London Golf Club, three years after he won the tournament by three shots at Close House Golf Club.

With matching rounds of 74 in the final two rounds of the Senior Open Championship, Fowler finished tied for 28th at St Andrews and sits inside the top 10 on the moneylist thanks to four top-10 finishes in the nine events in which he has played.

Joining Fowler in the field at London Golf Club are fellow Australians Peter O’Malley, Mike Harwood and Pymble Golf Club stalwart Guy Wall, playing just his second seniors event in Europe and his first since the 2016 Senior Open.

New Zealand pair Greg Turner and Dean Sipson are also in the field.
