Fresh from a final round of 65 that saw the crafty left-hander finish tied for 13th at the Italian Challenge, Cullen can look forward to playing a layout where he has enjoyed success in the past.
Runner-up in 2016 after starting the week with a pair of 66s, Cullen was tied for 20th 12 months ago and returns needing to improve on his current ranking of 73rd on the Challenge Tour moneylist.
This is just the fifth Challenge Tour start for the 34-year-old South Australian this year who has also played six events on the main European Tour including a best result of tied for 12th at the Shot Clock Masters.
Cullen may be the only Australian in the field in France this week but there are a host teeing it up in the PGA Tour-China Qingdao Championship.
All told there are 12 Australians lining up at the seaside layout of Tiger Beach Golf Links with Max McCardle and Deyen Lawson out to improve on their current position inside the top 25 on the Order of Merit.
Other Australians playing in China this week are Sam Earl, Corey Hale, Bryden Macpherson, James Marchesani, Peter Martin, Kevin Yuan, DJ Loypur, David Lutterus, Sean Underwood and Andrew Schonewille while New Zealand’s Hayden Beard has come through the Monday qualifier to join countrymen Luke Toomey, Campbell Rawson and Daniel Pearce in the field.
