With the Web.com season kicking into full swing it’s time for the Australian contingent to lift with none of the seven members inside the top 50 on the money list.
Robert Allenby is the highest ranked at 56th with Rhein Gibson just one place behind then a further seven places to Steve Allan.
Mark Hensby is the last of the Australians inside the top 100, holding down 98th position with a little over $7,000 in earnings.
This week’s El Bosque Mexico Championship features all those players plus Stuart Appleby, Jamie Arnold and Peter Lonard at a tournament which hasn’t been historically kind to players from this part of the world.
Lonard’s T11 in 2011 is the best of any of the Australians though Mat Goggin, who is on the alternate’s list this week, did finish T6 in 2013.
None of the Australians teeing up this week survived the 36 hole cut at last week’s tournament in Indiana so a form reversal is required – and fast – as the schedule begins what will be a hectic pace until year’s end.
