A 26 man strong contingent of Australasian has jetted to Korea this week as OneAsia tees up for the Kolon Korea Open.
While OneAsia has been on an extended break since the
Thailand Open in June, many of the Aussie and Kiwi players showed that their
games are sharp at the recent Isuzu Queensland Open on the PGA Tour of
Australasia.
Mark Brown finished third in Queensland and will be looking
to bring that form with him to Korea which has traditionally been a challenging
place for the international to compete.
Adam Blyth, Aaron Townsend, Michael Wright, Michael Sim and Josh
Younger also finished inside the top-10 at the Isuzu Queensland Open and are
listed in the Kolon Korea Open field.
Also coming into the tournament on the back of some solid
golf is Ryan Lynch. The WA PGA champion teed up at the European Tour’s Russian
Open last week and turned in three under par rounds to finish mid-field.
Australian Masters champion Nick Cullen this week will make
his first start since competing in the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational. He will
bring his learnings from competing against the best in the world with him to
Korea.
However the Australian and New Zealand contingent are up
against a tough challenge this week with some of Korea’s best golfers
assembling to contest their National Open. Spearheading the charge is KT Kim
and 2015 OneAsia winners Kyongjun Moon and Jinho Choi.
