All players are aware of the contribution Head Professional David Stretton has made to tournament golf in NSW and the PGA of Australia in general so it was no surprise seeing some of Australia’s best players like Craig Parry, Peter O’Malley, Andre Stolz and Nathan Green supporting the event.
Plenty of rain made life difficult for players but handling the conditions best on day one was Aaron Townsend who shot a fine 6-under 66 giving him a one-shot lead heading into the final round.
With the rain not letting up Sunday afternoon, players needed to show a lot of patience to get the job done and take out the title.
In-form Brody Martin who has already won four times on the 2018 Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series and Scott Arnold shared the spoils with 7-under 137 total.
Scott, who had never played in the event before was glowing in his praise.
“I’ve absolutely loved it up here over the past three days. From the sponsors day on Friday to my playing partners today all the people I have met have been great and so passionate about the event. To all the sponsors I can’t thank them enough for their support," said Arnold.
In the hunt for most of the day and hitting the lead at one stage was Alex Edge who eventually finished in third with 6-under 138 total.
In fourth was Matthew Millar who finished on 5-under 139.
Rounding out the top five was Taylor Cooper and Andrew Evans at 4-under 140.
Overnight leader Aaron Townsend followed his 66 with 3-over 75 to finish 7th on a total of 3-under 141.
The NSW/ACT swing of the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series will move to Castle Hill Country Club on Monday.
