Former winner Richard Green was on his way to missing the cut at the weather shortened Portugal Masters when he was disqualified midway through the second round.

It’s unclear why the left hander was one of five players to be disqualified in round two though all failed to complete 36 holes.

Green was 3-over for the tournament through 13 holes of round two when his week came to an end though with severe storms constantly interrupting play the event was eventually reduced to 36 holes.

The winner in 2010, Green was the only Australian in the field.
