Ray Beaufils and David McKenzie will be looking to go one better when the PGA TOUR China Series kicks off its second season with the Buick Open at Mission Hills this week.
Beaufils and McKenzie both finished in the top-10 of the
Order of Merit last year, narrowly missing one of the five conditional Web.com
Tour cards awarded at the end of the season.
Fellow Australian Brett Drewitt finished third and now plies
his trade full time on the Web.com Tour, an incentive all 23 Australians in the
field this week will be aware of.
McKenzie was a two time winner last year but played just
eight of the 12 events to finish sixth in the standings while Beaufils was one
spot behind after playing a full schedule.
Returning for a second year in China are former PGA TOUR
player David Lutterus and veteran Scott Laycock, both looking for an improvement
on last year’s finishes.
The full list of Australians playing this week is:
Jamie Arnold, Scott Barr, Ray Beaufils, Rohan Blizard,
Anthony Brown, Michael Choi, Gavin Flint, James Gibellini, Alex Hawley, Anthony
Houston, Luke Humphries, Matt Jager, Scott Laycock, David Lutterus, Kevin
Marques, Peter Martin, Blake McGrory, David McKenzie, Jack Munro, Nathan Park,
Jordan Sherratt, Michael Sim and Aaron Townsend.
