Canberra, Goulburn and Queanbeyan will host the best young talent in golf together with several legends of the game when the 2015 Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series visits the region over the next few weeks.

The series kicks off in Goulburn with the $20,000 Goulburn Soldiers Pro-Am beginning Tuesday 14 April and concluding on Wednesday 15 April.

Yowani Golf Club will host the first of four events in Canberra with some of the best golfers in Australia teeing it up at the Clark Group Yowani Pro-Am.

Murrumbidgee will again play host to Professionals over three days from Friday 17 April to the Sunday 19 April and will be one of the most tightly contested weekends on the national circuit.

Federal Golf Club will host a brand new event on Monday 20 April as part of the national Pro-Am circuit before players head to one of the most prestigious and historic events on the circuit at Queanbeyan Golf Club.  

An event which has seen the likes of Greg Norman and the late Kel Nagle compete, will again offer a wonderful arena for the next generation of golf stars.

The final event of the circuit is the ACT Decks Gold Creek Pro-Am and will see Canberra’s own golfing hero, Matt Millar, play host on Wednesday 22 April.

Millar is one of fourteen Professionals competing in the series who have won on the PGA Tour of Australasia. The 38 year old dominated the Australian summer of golf, capping off an amazing run by winning the Holden New Zealand PGA Championship.

Queensland’s Terry Price is one of the more recognisable names on the circuit and the likable 54-year-old says it’s still very enjoyable competing against the younger players on tour.

"I get to play a sport which allows me to knock off these young bucks from time to time which makes me smile," said Price.

"The pro-am circuit is a wonderful concept and an ideal way for golf clubs to show their course to the local community and visiting golfers so I’m excited to play these great courses in Canberra."
 
Another Professional who will be sure to attract attention is David McKenzie who is a past winner on the Web.com Tour and a current member of the PGA TOUR China.

As one of the most popular players in Australian golf, McKenzie has enjoyed a consistent year on the pro-am circuit but is yet to secure a victory in 2015.

"I am looking forward to the run of events in Canberra and playing on some great courses," said McKenzie. 

One player who will be hoping to not be outdone by the more experienced names of McKenzie and Price is the 2014 NANSHAN NSW PGA Championship winner Lincoln Tighe, who was last month named the 2014 NSW/ACT PGA Player of the Year.

Renown as the biggest hitter in Australian golf, Tighe will be in good company throughout the series as he faces other prominent young guns, including 2012 Australian PGA Champion, Daniel Popovic, and good friend, Dimitrious Papadatos, who won the 2014 BMW New Zealand Open.

Other Professionals competing include 2014 Fiji International winner, Steve Jeffress, 2015 Victorian PGA Champion, Aaron Townsend and recent Ron Crouch Transport Wagga Pro-Am winner, Mitch Brown.
 
No less than 80 PGA professionals will take to the fairways over the course of nine days, competing for prize money in excess of $85,000.

Each event is unique to the golf club and pairs up members and sponsors of the event with the competing PGA professionals in one of the most entertaining forms of professional sport.
