After a solid opening round of 70, Tim Hart has taken full control of the2015 Morobe Open presented by Coca-Cola in the second round.
He fired nine birdies on his way to a course record equalling round of 8-under63 at Lae Golf Club in Papua New Guinea.
Hartsits atop the leaderboard at 9-under the card, and is three shot clear of first round leader SeanRiordan three shots back.
DanielNisbet, Dean Alaban and Simon Houston are a further shot back at 5-under thecard, while defending champion Heath Reed who currently sits 10 shots behindHart, will need something special over the weekend if he is to win his fourthMorobe Open.
Thisis Hart’s first trip to Papua New Guinea and although the conditions can be alittle difficult for many on their first trip, Hart is taking it all in his stride.
"Ithas been an incredible week so far, the people are just so friendly andwelcoming of the Professionals, we certainly feel we have an obligation to puton a show for them this week," said Hart following his round.
Knownfor his prodigious hitting abilities it is no surprise to see Hart shooting lownumbers on the heavily rain effected course.
"Iguess the course is playing longer than what it has in past years with the rainin the last 24 hours which really plays into my hands given my length off thetee," added Hart.
"Itis great to be heading into the weekend with the lead, but I am certainly notgoing to get ahead of myself."
"Patienceis key on this course and if I can continue to hole some putts, I will be inwith a chance come Sunday afternoon."
Withthe Morobe Open presented by Coca-Cola Amatil boasting the second largest prizepurse on offer on the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series Sunshine Swing in 2015,the champion will have a huge advantage in the race to the Order of Merittitle.
Hartfinished agonisingly close in 2014, but will be looking to make the most of hisgood start here this week.
Round3 will get underway tomorrow morning at 7:00am, with the lead group featuringHart, Riordan and Nisbet teeing off at 12:51pm.
