Hot scoring in Germany leaves Aussies in the cold

"JasonJason Scrivener was the best of the
Australians after 36 holes but at 1-under-par was two shots outside the cut
line.

Spain’s Rafael Cabrera Bello set the 36
hole record for the tournament at 132 with 65 players at 3-under or better
heading to Saturday.

The record for the lowest cut in European
Tour history is 6-under (twice) with this tournament featuring twice in the
top-10 when the cut came at 5-under in both 1992 and 1997.

Scrivener played some decent golf over the
first two days and was the only Australian to break par in any round while Wade
Ormsby, Andrew Dodt, Richard Green and Scott Hend all struggled with their
games.

A double bogey at the 16th hole
Thursday seemed to derail Wade Ormsby whose nine dropped shots for the week
were always going to be too much to overcome on his way to 2-over.

Andrew Dodt found only five birdies in two
rounds, his week summed up by back-to-back double bogeys on the fourth and
fifth holes Friday.

Richard Green’s stats suggest he struggled
with his irons finding just 16 greens in 36 holes and making only two birdies.

Scott Hend appears to be suffering a mini
slump and some erratic golf in Germany saw him balloon to 9-over.

In his last 15 rounds Hend has broken 70
just once and after a brilliant start to his first year on the European Tour
has now missed three cuts in his last five starts.
