Kalem Richardson has sent a warning out to his competitors on the Asian Tour today and in doing so put his recent hip surgery to bed, firing a seven under par 64, to win the Southport Pro-Am.
Richardson’s round included six birdies and an eagle, with his only blemish coming at the par four 18th which was only his second hole for the day. Richardson however, was quick to turn it around and with a birdie at his final hole, Richardson would sign for a 64 and a one shot win over Matthew Millar.
It has been a tough few months for Richardson after his surgery in June, but the 27 year-old who currently plays fulltime in Asia loves the time that he is spending back on the golf course.
"Although it has been a difficult couple of months, the surgery is something that I needed to go through in order for me to continue to play at a high level internationally," said Richardson.
"I really hit the ball well today, which is great heading into the Russian Open next week. This has been a great lead up tournament and hopefully I can replicate my form here today, next week in Russia."
"This is the third time I have played the Southport event, and once again they have put on a first class tournament, not only for us professionals, but for their sponsors, members and visitors."
