Senior Queensland PGA Professionals and their Golf Queensland counterparts went head to head today at Oxley Golf Club to contest the Jack Brown Shield – an annual match play event that sees Queensland PGA Legends take on the best of the Senior Golf Queensland team.

""The event is a popular one with both teams and promotes a strong sense of friendly rivalry.

Now in its 11th year, the event honours popular PGA Member Jack Brown who was a formidable player in his day and also a great contributor to golf in Queensland.

David Hando’s win over Tim Deakin from Golf Queensland finishing 2UP after being 3 down after nine holes, while Tom Linskey from the PGA Team won his match 1UP on the last hole after holing out on second shot into the par 3 after nearly finishing out of bounds off the tee.

At the end of the day it was the PGA Legends who proved victorious with a convincing score of 8 ½ to 1 ½, retaining the cup for a ninth time out of 11 contests.
