Two late birdies have seen Michael Sim claw his way into the top-10 of the OneAsia Tour’s Maekyung Open in Korea.
Sim opened with back-to-back rounds of 69 to be in third place at the halfway stage of the tournament but struggled in more testing conditions over the weekend.
A Saturday 75 dropped him to a share of eighth and he looked to be slipping even further when he walked off the 10th green in the final round at 3-over for the day.
But back to back birdies at the 14th and 15th showed grit from Sim who finished the 72 holes at 2-under and outright 10th.
The 31-year-old was the only Australian to finish in red numbers, former BMW New Zealand Open winner Jordan Zunic next best at 2-over and T16.
Max McCardle also finished in the top-25 at 3-over and T21 while Q-School winner Jamie Arnold was T30 at 5-over for the week.
Steven Jeffress (T30), Matt Guyatt (T42), David Mackenzie (T50), Jason Norris (T54), Kevin Lee (T59), Josh Younger (T64) and Aaron Pike (T73) were the other Australians to make the cut.
