Peter Fowler has picked up where he left
off, recoding a top-10 finish in the first European Senior Tour event of the
season to be played on European soil.

Last week’s US Senior PGA, where Fowler
finished T39, was co-sanctioned by the European Tour but this week’s Wales
Senior Open marks the first of the 10 standalone events which will make up the
2016 European Senior Tour.

With two wins and four other top-10’s in
2015 Fowler was in the top tier on the over 50’s circuit last year and is off
to another good start in 2016.

Fowler shot rounds of 70-68-70 for a
2-under 54 hole total and outright 10^th place, 10 shots behind
runaway winner Liangwei Zhang of China.

Fowler was the only Australian to finish
under par in a difficult scoring week, Mike Harwood next best at 2-over and T22
with Peter O’Malley 6-over and T33.

The Tour tees up again next week in Jersey
before a break then three tournaments in July.
