ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia standout
Ryan Fox continues to be a force on Europe’s secondary Challenge Tour, the New
Zealand native posting his second consecutive top-5 in Slovakia this week.
Fox made a name for himself on the Tour
last year after parlaying his first tournament invite into a hugely successful
season and in three events this year is yet to finish outside the top-10.
A runner-up finish at the Scottish Hydro
Challenge two weeks ago came on the back of a T7 result in France and this
week’s T4 now has him inside the all important top-15 on the Road to Oman
standings.
Having missed graduating to the main Tour
by less than €2,000 in 2015 when he finished 16th, Fox is now on
track to earn playing rights to the main Tour for 2017.
Fox was the leading Australasian in the
tournament at 15-under-par for the week, Daniel Gaunt also getting to double
digits under par in finishing T22.
The Victorian moved up six places in the
final round with a 3-under 69 to get to 10-under for the week and continues to
show solid form.
Dimi Papadatos (T52) was the last of the
Australasians to make the cut, Ben Eccles missing the weekend after rounds of
74 and 70.
