David Merriman has successfully defended his Rolls-Royce
Motor Cars QLD PGA Legends Pro-Am title at Royal Queensland Golf Club.

Perfect golf condition greeted the field for this year’s tournament
and Merriman seized his opportunity firing 3-under 69 to win the tournament for
the second year running.

Merriman got his title defence off to a strong start with a
birdie on the 1^st hole, adding two more to his card at the 5^th
and 9^th.

Making the turn at 3-under the card, Merriman made a rare
bogey at the 12^th but got the dropped shot back on the par-3 17^th.

""I very much enjoy this event and also the layout here
at Royal Queensland" said Merriman, who was presented with the prestigious Royal
Queensland Cup which has been awarded since 1924.

"To defend any title is very special and to do it here is
extremely satisfying."

Winning by one shot, Glenn Joyner was Merriman’s closest
rival with Craig Warren the only other player to finish under par at Royal
Queensland Golf Club.

This tournament tees of the Queensland swing of the E-Z-GO
PGA Legends Tour with many of the nation’s best senior players including Rodger
Davis, Tim Elliot and Ossie Moore set to converge on the Sunshine state.
