After some encouraging golf at the recent Paul Lawrie Matchplay veteran Richard Green will be hoping to turn around an indifferent year when he tees up in this week’s Made in Denmark tournament.
After some encouraging golf at the recent Paul Lawrie Matchplay veteran Richard Green will be hoping to turn around an indifferent year when he tees up in this week’s Made in Denmark tournament.
Green was T6 at this event last year and after a 2016 which has seen him struggle for consistency the familiar surrounds might be just the boost he needs to recapture some good form.
Green has made just four cuts in 14 starts this season with his best finish coming at the 2015 Australian PGA Championship at Royal Pines.
However, his recent play under pressure at the Matchplay suggests his game is coming around and with just nine full field events left on the schedule he is still a good chance to climb into the top-110 on the Race to Dubai and keep his playing rights for 2017.
Green is one of nine Australians to take his place in the field this week, Euro Tour regulars Brett Rumford, Nathan Holman, Andrew Dodt and Jason Scrivener joined by Terry Pilkadaris, Daniel Gaunt and Dimi Papadatos.
Also earning a start is recent Northern Territory PGA winner Jordan Zunic who has secured an invite to the tournament and will be keen to cash in on his hot form.
