After weeks of ISPS HANDA Australasian Tour events, the NSW/ACT Pro-Am Series will hit the ground running with three weeks of events worth around $200,000.

It will give players who have had a slow start to the season a great opportunity to find form with another 11 events before the Easter break.

The prestigious Mulpha Castle Hill Country Club Pro Am in Sydney will be the first event in the swing. The field again this year will see some of Australia’s best talent compete for the $35,000 in prize money.

Included in the field recent Victorian Open champion Dimitrios Papadatos, 14 time Winner on the Japanese Tour Brendan Jones and TV host Paul Gow who still holds the course record at the club.

The series will then move onto the Riverina area in South West of NSW for another four events. Among the Griffith, Leeton and Yenda events will be NSW’s biggest regional Pro Am. The Ron Crouch Transport Wagga Wagga Country Club Pro Am will be played for $37,000 and will attract players from all over the country.

One of the headline acts for the event will be former US PGA TOUR player Jarrod Lyle. Also in the field will be the 2016 champion Dale Brandt-Richards.

“The Wagga Wagga event last year was the key to me having such a successful season. I started the year with little status but the win opened doors for me and I’m very grateful to the club,” said Brandt-Richards

To conclude what will be an exciting three weeks of golf will be the ACT swing; five clubs will make up the ACT swing, Murrumbidgee, Queanbeyan, Yowani, Federal and Gold Creek. The Canberra region has always been very important to the NSW/ACT Pro Am Series and this year we are lucky to have players like Marcus Fraser, European Tour winner and Australian Olympian along with Australian golfing legend Peter Senior support a couple of the events.

“It’s great that players like Marcus and Peter come and support the events in Canberra. I encourage anyone in the area to come down and watch these guys play,” said Peter Welden, NSW/ACT Tournament Coordinator.
