Bransdon continues to dominate class field in Perth

David Bransdon has continued his return to the top of Australian golf with an impressive display at the Handle Property Group Lakelands Pro-Am at Lakelands Country Club in Perth yesterday, firing a 6-under-par 66 to capture his second WA/SA PGA Subaru Pro-Am Series event in a row.

""Bransdon is coming off a miracle round on Sunday at the Mack Hall Cottesloe Open where his final round 10-under-par 62 was far too good to hold off a stellar field including the likes of European Tour players Jason Scrivener, former ISPS HANDA Australasian PGA Tour Player of the year Matt Millar, Victorian Ash Hall and Legends Tour stalwart Mike Harwood to name just a few.

Bransdon will return to Japan on Sunday where he hopes to continue his form as he heads into a busy period on the lucrative Japanese Tour.

“It’s a big few weeks for me coming up and considering I have been playing pretty bad of late, it’s been a great few events out here in the west and I always love coming back to play these amazing courses,” said Bransdon who is a multiple winner on the Australasian Tour.

Scrivener joined fellow Australian golfing star Jarrod Lyle at Lakelands on Tuesday and although the pair were unable to match Bransdon’s 66, both managed top-20 results.

“It is a amazing run of pro-am’s here in WA,” said Lyle who will head home after the WA PGA Championship next week.

“The weather is great, the courses are always in great condition and the quality of events are always strong so it’s nice to come and be a part of it."

With rounds of 67, New South Welshman Lindsay Wilson and local West Australian Braden Becker tied for second place at Lakelands which preludes the Sun City Pro-Am on Wednesday.

Both Becker and Wilson will be in action with Lyle and other local Western Australian stars including the 2016 WA PGA Champion Stephen Dartnell at the Spalding Park Open in Geraldton which starts Friday.

Dartnell will lead the field back to Kalgoorlie next week for the 2017 TX Civil & Logistics WAPGA Championship which marks the halfway point of the WA/SA PGA Subaru Pro-Am Series.
