Jamie Arnold spearheads a five strong assault at the Web.com Tour’s Nashville Open as the Sydney native continues his bid to earn a PGA TOUR card for 2018.
The Web.com Tour rookie is the best of the Australians on the circuit’s money list with the season approaching its halfway mark, Arnold moving up four places last week with a gutsy back nine in the final round.
The 34-year-old is currently 52nd on the standings but needs to climb into the top-25 by the end of the season to earn privileges on the PGA TOUR.
After a difficult start to the season he has found his feet in recent weeks with six of his last 12 rounds in the 60’s.
His season highlight has been a T4 three weeks ago at the Rust Oleum Championship in Illinois and a repeat of that performance this week would be a big confidence boost heading to the back half of the season.
The Nashville Golf Open is being played for just the second time, Peter Lonard the only one of the five Australians playing this week to have seen the course.
He finished T50 in 2016 and joins Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby and Rhein Gibson at the Nashville Golf and Athletic Club.
