Peter Fowler has had a happy association with the host site of this week’s Swiss Senior Open, the Golf Club Bad Ragaz.
The course was the scene of the second of Fowler’s five Senior Tour victories and he also boasts three other top-10 finishes there.
After a week of good play at the U.S. Senior Open where he made the cut for the fifth time in six starts, Fowler will be feeling good about his chances this week as he leads a three strong Australian contingent into battle.
The evergreen Fowler is one of the European Senior Tour’s most consistent players and currently sits 16th on the Order of Merit.
He will be joined this week by Mike Harwood and Peter O’Malley, the latter already displaying good form in his lone appearance for the year.
O’Malley was T9 at the European Tour Properties Senior Classic three weeks ago and will be keen to return to Bad Ragaz where he played some excellent golf in 2016.
O’Malley opened with rounds of 66-66 last year before fading in the final round with a 72 to finish T12 and will be keen to improve on that this year.
Harwood, too, has shown form on the Swiss layout closing with a 65 last year to join O’Malley in a share of 12th place.
