Daniel Fox saved his best golf until the final round at the Mount Wolseley course on his way to a top 25 result at the European secondary Tour’s Irish Challenge.
Fox opened with rounds of 74-70-74 to be in the bottom third of the field after 54 holes but a bogey free final round of 67 moved him 17 places up the standings to T22.
It was Fox’s second best result on the Challenge Tour for 2017.
The 41-year-old was one of four Australians to tee up in Ireland, Ryan McCarthy the other to make the cut though disappointed with a T58 result at 5-over for the week.
McCarthy signed for rounds of 72-75-72-74 in a difficult week for scoring, Daniel Gaunt and Ben Eccles the other Australians to tee up but missing the cut.
