Morning players were faced with near on freezing conditions making scoring tough; the best morning scorecard coming from last year’s Cottesloe Open winner Michael Choi with a round of 2-under 70.
Warmer, sunny afternoon conditions aided scoring across the board to see Wilson and Rankin fire up the leaderboard and secure the joint win with rounds of 3-under 69.
Continuing their impressive form from the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia’s SP PNG Open tournament, Jack Wilson, Brady Watt and James Anstiss joined Choi at 2-under the card for a share of third place.
A total of nine players recorded scores under par with Victorian Rory Bourke joining WA locals Cooper Geddes and Jarryd Felton at 1-under the card to tie for seventh place.
Players now head to the two-day, $40,000 TSA Sanwell Cottesloe Open which also includes the Cottesloe Senior Invitational for $18,000.
Play begins from 7am both days.
