Day one of the PGA Ladbrokes Legends Tour South Pacific Classic saw 34 Senior Professionals including 2015  Australian Masters champion Peter Senior and former European Tour player Jean-Louis Guepy take to the Sheraton Deva Golf Course.

Playing at 6100 metres this Dye layout was showing its teeth with quick, firm greens testing out the players accuracy and control with their iron play.

The resort is situated two hours North of Noumea and provides a wonderful setting for this the inaugural South Pacific Senior Classic.

Senior handled the conditions the best making two birdies in the last five to card a 1-over 73 for a one shot lead over Tod Power, Tim Elliott and Legends Tour rookie Martin Peterson.

Play resumes tomorrow at 9.30am before they move on to Tina Golf Club in Noumea for the last two rounds.
