The Ocean Shores Country Club last year made a welcomed return to the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series and hosted its second Carlton United Breweries Ocean Shores Pro-Am.

""Aaron Wilkin and Ryan Gailey have fired rounds of 6-under par 66 to be declared joint winners of the Carlton & United Breweries Ocean Shores Pro-Am.

It was the first time the Brisbane based professional Wilkin had played the Ocean Shores layout, known as one of the premier courses in the Northern Rivers Region and also renowned for its difficulty.

“I played great golf today,” said Wilkin.

“It’s nice to find some form as I haven’t been playing well. I’ve just spent a week working on my game and in particular my putting, which was perfect today."

Ryan Gailey recorded a bogey-free round this afternoon on his way to 6-under par 66 and his first win on the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series.

“I couldn’t have hit the ball better than I did today," said Gailey.

“I hit every green on course today for the first time ever, which was incredible."

The rounds shot today by Wilkin and Gailey are recognized as equal new course records and are the lowest professional scores shot at the Ocean Shores Country Club since Wayne Riley recorded a 65 back in 1983.

The next best placed professional was Cory Crawford finishing in outright second position following his round of 5-under par 67, also capping off a solid week of performances for the young professional.

The next stop on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series will be the Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club where play begins at 7.30am Friday 31 August for the BBC Digital Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Pro-Am.
