Victorian Rory Bourke has continued his fine form in the west, winning the Urban Quarter Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club Pro-Am just six days after his first Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series win in WA for 2019.
Whilst the world’s best surfers were tackling the nearby Surfers Point break for the World Surf League’s Margaret River Pro, some of Australia’s best professionals tackled the Dunsborough Lakes layout in the fourth edition of the pro-am.
Players faced a strong breeze and cool conditions but scoring was still hot; Rory Bourke firing seven birdies and two bogies in tough conditions for a round of 5-under 67.
“I’m putting really nicely and when you’re doing that it takes the pressure off the rest of the game,” said Bourke.
“The course was fantastic and Len Thomas (PGA Life Member) and his team as always put on another amazing event.”
Sitting just one shot behind Bourke in second place was Andrew Schonewille with a round of 4-under 68.
Third place outright went to South Australian Antonio Murdaca at 3-under 69, followed by Daniel Hoeve, Michael Long, Brad Moules, Brody Martin and Brady Watt all shooting 2-under 70 to be tied for fourth.
Players now head a little further North to the Nexus Risk Services Southwest Open hosted by Bunbury Golf Club.

Bourke’s round was the best of the day by two shots at the par-70 Gosnells Golf Club where he finished clear of six players tied for second place.
After turning professional in 2012, Bourke emphasised the challenges golf professionals face along the journey and how much a win means when it comes along.
“Tour life is hard, there are more lows than highs but when you do finally get a taste of the highs again and have a win, it makes it all worthwhile,” said Bourke.
“I played great today and look forward to hopefully continuing this form down south.”
Scott Strange, Braden Becker, Andrew Martin, recent pro-am winners Peter Wilson and Brady Watt, as well as club local Jarryd Felton, all shot rounds of 2-under 68 for second place.
Brody Martin, Rick Kulacz, Michael Choi, and Daniel Fox also recorded rounds under par to tie for eighth.
Gosnells Golf Club played host to the last event in the city before players will head regional for the WA Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series.
The Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series WA swing now heads to beautiful parts of the south-west, starting at the British Sausage Ham & Bacon Busselton Pro-Am.

A total of 59 players battled it out in the heat where Bourke fired an impressive 7-under 65 to top the leaderboard.
Struggling with his recent form, the win at Heidelberg is a big boost for Bourke.
“My form has been absolutely terrible to the point where I almost gave golf away,” he said. “I have worked hard with my coach Tim Wood and it’s nice to see some results.”
“The course was in stunning condition, almost as good as we play all year so thanks to them and a huge thank you to Get Wines Direct for sponsoring and to the club for hosting the event.”
Firm fairways and fast greens made for exciting play with Tim Hart making the most of a rare morning start, firing 6-under 66 to take the morning lead.
A host of players shot under par in the afternoon, including James Hartley and Ruben Lal whose scores of 6-under 66 saw them join Hart in a tie for second place.
