As the Australian PGA Championship was teeing off 64 Professionals would try and make their name by taking out the Bite Me Bakehouse Asquith Pro-Am.

The day started with fog and ended with hot, muggy conditions that would test all players in the field.

Anthony Choat who shot 4-under 66 would be the one to catch after the morning round.

Choat got off to a shaky start with bogey two of his first four holes. He would steady himself with four birdies and an eagle over the remaining holes.

“I’ve recently started playing more golf since moving to NSW and it’s great to play well  the win is a nice bonus,” said Choat.

“It didn’t look like it was going to be that great a day with my start but I played some nice golf after that and the eagle on the 8^th definitely helped.”

A trio of players would finish runner up with 3-under 67, they were Nick Flanagan, Samuel Phillips and Ben Stowe.

Rounding out the top five were Brad McIntosh and Dale Williamson with 2-under 68. Williamson would claim shot of the day having a hole-in-one on the par 3 14^th.

The Ladbrokes NSW/ACT PGA Pro-Am Series will move to Elanora for the IK Harrison Invitational tomorrow.
